Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations
A marketing and advertising degree for people who want to master brand communication from start to finish. Creativity, strategy, public relations and digital marketing with real briefs from the very first year. Official degree leading to a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours awarded by London Metropolitan University. With an international pathway in New York, Paris and Miami.
A marketing and advertising degree you learn by creating real campaigns
The Degree in Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations at CESINE isn’t learnt just by analysing historical case studies. From first year you visit communication companies in Cantabria, join the ideation team for Centro Botín’s Festival ON and develop your creative and strategic thinking with briefs that simulate — and in many cases are — real commissions. In second year, you develop a full marketing plan for a real client, which you present and defend throughout the year. In third year, you take part in the Excellence Lab inter-university competition, with the chance to defend your proposal in Madrid. Four years to learn how to build brands, design campaigns and create stories that change decisions.

Studying marketing and advertising at CESINE: what sets us apart
Studying the Degree in Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations at CESINE means learning from lecturers who, on Monday, present at their agency what they discussed with you in class on Friday. The faculty are working professionals: creatives, account directors, brand strategists and digital marketing specialists. And if you want a truly international dimension, the international pathway takes you to study in New York, in Paris with EFAP and in Miami with Miami Ad School — the most awarded advertising creativity school in the world.
This qualification is officially equivalent to a University Degree
Degrees from CESINE’s School of Business and Communication are awarded by London Metropolitan University and validated by SIUCAN. They carry the same academic recognition as Spanish national university degrees and give you access to public-sector job openings under Royal Decree 889/2022, as well as to official master’s and doctoral programmes in the European Higher Education Area. You can apply to the Spanish Ministry of Education for equivalence with an official Spanish university degree.

How you learn at CESINE
Real briefs and real clients from year one
Every year includes a project with a company or a real case. You don’t learn by analysing other people’s campaigns: you learn by creating, presenting and defending your own in front of clients and professional panels.
Lecturers who work at agencies and teach
Working creatives, account directors, brand strategists and digital marketing specialists. They bring into the classroom the projects and trends they’re working on this week. The industry’s latest developments come into class, not the other way round.
Industry competitions and events
The inter-university Excellence Lab, Festival ON at Centro Botín, Communication and Business Week and TEDxCESINE talks. Your connection with the industry doesn’t wait for the Year 3 placement: it starts in the first term.
Small groups, individual attention
A maximum of 20 students per class. Lecturers know your name and projects are reviewed one by one. In advertising, the difference between a generic brief and a campaign that works lies in personalised feedback.
Work placements at agencies, consultancies and marketing departments
Curricular work placements are part of the Year 3 curriculum. You can also do extracurricular placements at any time to gain experience and strengthen your professional portfolio. The Business Relations Department supports you throughout the search and provides tutoring. Some of our regular partners: McCann, Havas Media Network, Atresmedia, L’Oréal España, Lua Group, Digital Growth.
Step out of your comfort zone, find your way in new environments, speak multiple languages and immerse yourself in different cultures. Within the programme set up through the EDH group network and our long-standing partners, you’ll enjoy classes with the same level of excellence and focus at no additional cost.
The Degree in Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations has an international track unique in Spain: four years studying between Santander, New York, Paris and Miami. Classes are taught in English and Spanish at internationally renowned schools. You graduate with the same LMU degree, a borderless professional network and working methods that very few programmes in Spain can offer.
