Fashion Design
Studying Fashion Design at CESINE means learning the whole craft: from the first sketch to the final runway show. Pattern cutting, garment construction, fashion illustration, trends, creative direction and sustainability. Four years working on real collections with a faculty of practising designers. Official degree validated by SIUCAN, with the option to continue with a Top-Up at LMU.
Studying Fashion Design at CESINE: from sketch to runway
The Degree in Fashion Design at CESINE isn’t learnt just by drawing: you learn by cutting, sewing, prototyping and defending each collection in front of a panel of professionals. From first year you’re in the workshop, working with patterns and fabric and understanding the industry from the inside. We study fashion as what it is today: a creative discipline with cultural, economic and environmental responsibility. And we train designers who know how to sign a collection, defend it and deliver it.
A Fashion Design school focused on craft and sustainability
At CESINE we see Fashion Design as a craft you learn by doing. You have access to our own workshop, industrial machines, a pattern-cutting room and professional software (CLO 3D, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). And we treat sustainability as a cross-cutting theme: materials, processes, life cycle and new circular economies applied to fashion.

This qualification is officially equivalent to a University Degree
Awarded by the Government of Cantabria’s Regional Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Tourism and validated by SIUCAN, this qualification gives you access to job openings at public institutions and private companies, as well as to official master’s and doctoral programmes. It carries 240 ECTS credits recognised in the European Higher Education Area, making academic and professional mobility across Europe easier.
Who is this degree for?

- People with a real interest in fashion as a creative discipline, not as a trend

Work placements at fashion houses, ateliers and agencies
Curricular and extracurricular. Every placement comes with individual tutoring. Some of our partners for Fashion Design profiles:
At CESINE we understand that studying for a degree is an investment. That’s why we support you with that part too: motivation scholarships, financing through partner institutions and tailored payment plans. The admissions team reviews your case individually.
No. What we ask for is genuine interest and a project-driven attitude. Fashion drawing, pattern cutting and garment construction are taught progressively from first year. Admissions reviews each profile individually.
CLO 3D (digital pattern cutting and prototyping), Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (fashion illustration and communication), InDesign (lookbooks and portfolios) and collection presentation tools. We work with the same versions and processes used by fashion houses.
Yes, as a cross-cutting theme. It isn’t a stand-alone subject: sustainability runs through material selection, production processes, garment life cycle and new circular economies applied to fashion. It’s part of the craft today, not an option.
Yes. The final collection in fourth year is the professional project you defend and deliver. But the portfolio is built from year one: every brief, every project, every garment. When you finish the degree, you have real work to present to fashion houses and studios.
Yes, for specific reasons. Small cohorts, individual access to the workshop, a faculty of practising designers, connections with the national and international industry and a reasonable cost of living that lets you focus on learning. And, if you wish, the option of a British Top-Up when you finish.
Yes. After completing the degree you can take an additional Top-Up year with London Metropolitan University (Fashion Marketing is the closest option to Fashion Design) and earn a British Bachelor’s Degree recognised across Europe.
